Insurance Activity Claims Review 2013

The Injuries board is a government body which was set up to reduce the cost of settling Persona Injuries Claims under Motor Insurance, Employers and public liability insurance policies. The Aim was to reduce the associated costs such as medical and legal expenses. The Report published in 2013 shows us that the number of new claims has increased  by 5.8%

The average award in 2013 was €22,847; this increase from €21,502 in 2012

During 2013, the Injuries Board made its highest ever compensation award of €1.39m. 75% of the awards were for injuries from road traffic accidents while the remainder were split between workplace  and public place accidents
